Founder Chris Drake moves to chief innovation officer and will remain on the company’s board.
Armor, a provider of managed cyber defense and compliance, named Nicholas Lee chief executive officer, effective Monday. Lee most recently served as CEO of Fujitsu Intelligence.
Armor founder Chris Drake will become chief innovation officer in a full-time role and remain on Armor’s board of directors. He will work with Lee to identify emerging customer needs and develop new business opportunities.
In a July 30 announcement, Armor identified Drake as its founder and CEO. Drake said finding a leader to help Armor scale was a priority. He added that he had first attempted to recruit Lee 14 years ago.
Lee arrives with Fujitsu security and AI background
Lee spent much of his career at Fujitsu Ltd. (TSE: 6702), where he built managed security and services businesses and led global services portfolios for enterprise and public-sector customers, the company said.
It said he has more than two decades of experience building technology services businesses, including managed services and enterprise AI. Fujitsu describes him as responsible for building and scaling Fujitsu’s data and AI business in North America.
Sovereign AI debuted in July
Lee takes charge as Armor expands its focus on AI alongside its cybersecurity and compliance services. The company launched Sovereign AI on July 30, describing it as a governed AI work platform for regulated industries.
The platform allows customers to set usage policies, cap spending by team and task, and maintain logs of every action. Armor said over 1,700 organizations across more than 40 countries have relied on it since 2009.
Lee outlines first steps
Lee said his first priority is to listen to employees, customers and partners and build on the company’s strengths. He said he plans to work with Drake and the team to strengthen cybersecurity services and help customers adopt AI securely.
