Sky9 Capital opens Paris office at Station F

The Singapore-based venture firm, which says it manages about $2 billion, plans to help portfolio companies enter Europe and work with European founders.

Sky9 Capital, a venture capital firm headquartered in Singapore, has opened an office at Station F, a startup campus in Paris. The office is intended to support portfolio companies expanding into Europe and strengthen the firm’s connections with European founders.

The firm says it manages approximately $2 billion in assets. Sky9 has not disclosed whether the Paris office will have a dedicated investment budget or how much capital it plans to deploy in Europe.

Founder outlines cross-border role

Ron Cao, Sky9’s founder, stated the firm plans to support Asian companies expanding into Europe and to back European founders with global ambitions. He said the office continues Sky9’s “long-term commitment to connecting Europe and Asia.”

The announcement puts Paris as a base for cross-border support and partnerships without specifying the sectors or portfolio companies it will focus on initially.

Roxanne Varza, director of Station F, said Sky9’s arrival strengthens the link between European and Asian innovation. She said Station F looks forward to seeing the connections the office creates for its entrepreneurs as they develop projects internationally.

Campus hosts more than 1,000 startups

Station F, in Paris’s 13th arrondissement, hosts more than 1,000 startups and more than 30 startup programs. The campus opened in 2017. Sky9 describes Station F as Europe’s largest startup campus.

Firm traces roots to 2011 partnership

Sky9 was founded in 2016 by partners who had worked together since 2011. The firm said it has invested in and supported more than 150 Asia- and US-based startups. Some companies that the firm has backed include ByteDance, WeRide Inc. (NASDAQ: WRD) and Webull Corp. (NASDAQ: BULL) among the companies.

Office details remain limited

Sky9 has not disclosed the Paris office’s staffing, opening date or investment plans.
