bringing together nearly 400 employees to volunteer with 23 nonprofit organizations across seven states. The initiative is part of the company’s Sensata Serves Volunteer Program, which offers U.S. employees eight paid volunteer hours each year to support community service activities.
Now in its eighth year, the Day of Service reflects Sensata’s ongoing commitment to community engagement and social responsibility. Employees, including members of the company’s Strategy Leadership Team and Employee Resource Groups, participated in more than 25 volunteer projects alongside long-standing nonprofit partners.
Volunteer activities took place across California, Idaho, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Rhode Island, and Vermont, with additional service projects scheduled later this month at Sensata’s Virginia location. Several of the supported nonprofits also receive funding from the Sensata Foundation, the company’s charitable organization.
The projects covered a wide range of community needs, from hands-on construction work to environmental and social support initiatives. Employees helped build garden beds, install irrigation systems, and create an archery station, while also contributing to projects that strengthen nonprofit operations and expand their community impact.
Key initiatives included facility improvement projects at organizations such as the Attleboro Norton YMCA and Habitat for Humanity in Vermont. Environmental conservation efforts were carried out with Mass Audubon and Adopt-a-Highway. Employees also supported food distribution and hunger relief initiatives through organizations including Rhode Island Community Food Bank, Rise Against Hunger, and VEAP.
Additional volunteer efforts focused on family services, housing support, and literacy programs through partnerships with Crossroads Rhode Island, Greater Attleboro Area Council for Children, and Books Are Wings.
Lynne Caljouw, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Sensata, highlighted the importance of the company’s culture of giving and community stewardship. She thanked employees for dedicating their time and skills to support communities across the country and emphasized the meaningful impact created through volunteer service.
Beyond the annual Day of Service, Sensata employees continue contributing throughout the year through the Sensata Serves program. In 2025 alone, employees contributed more than 5,500 volunteer hours supporting 57 nonprofit organizations nationwide.
