JetBlue Reintroduces ‘Blueprint II’ Livery on Airbus A220

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--JetBlue (Nasdaq: JBLU) has officially launched scheduled flights featuring ‘Blueprint II,’ a refreshed version of one of its most iconic special liveries, now showcased on a new Airbus A220 aircraft.

Originally unveiled in 2017 on an Embraer E190, the first Blueprint design quickly became a standout across JetBlue’s fleet. Its creative “see-through” concept combined illustrations of everyday travel items with the aircraft’s internal structure. Drawing inspiration from stories shared by both crewmembers and customers, the design included playful elements such as pizza slices and potted plants, reflecting the joy, personality, and memorable experiences associated with travel in a uniquely JetBlue style. Although the livery was retired in 2024 as part of the airline’s fleet modernization, it remained a favorite among customers, employees, and aviation enthusiasts.

The newly introduced Blueprint II builds upon the original concept with more striking visuals, enhanced detail, and newly added hidden features across the aircraft. The updated livery incorporates a range of symbolic icons representing JetBlue’s network, heritage, and spirit of exploration. These include:

  • A large teddy bear, a fan-favorite element, now placed in its own passenger seat
  • A crown symbolizing JetBlue’s first European destination, London
  • A sextant displayed in the cockpit area, paying tribute to the history of navigation
  • Beach-themed elements such as fins, a snorkel mask, and a pool float, highlighting the airline’s popular leisure destinations

In addition, Blueprint II features numerous hidden “Easter eggs” scattered throughout the design, offering passengers and aviation enthusiasts new details to discover over time.

“Our aircraft liveries serve as a meaningful representation of the JetBlue brand and the human connection at the heart of our customer experience,” said Marty St. George, President of JetBlue. “Blueprint II celebrates a design that has been loved for years while reflecting the journeys, memories, and sense of discovery that continue to define JetBlue.”

Following the retirement of its Embraer E190 fleet on September 9, 2025, JetBlue has completed its transition to an all-Airbus fleet, centered around modern A220 and A320 aircraft. Blueprint II continues the airline’s tradition of using distinctive aircraft designs to extend its brand identity—creating liveries that inspire curiosity, encourage exploration, and engage customers in unique ways.
