INDIA & SINGAPORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- JetSetGo, one of India’s leading private aviation companies, and Vertical Aerospace (NYSE: EVTL), a global aerospace and electric aviation technology company, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the intended purchase of 50 Valo aircraft and a strategic collaboration to support Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) development in India.
The agreement establishes a framework for both companies to jointly explore route networks, operational models, regulatory coordination, and commercial deployment strategies for electric and hybrid-electric aircraft across India.
Valo, Vertical Aerospace’s electric aircraft platform, is designed to carry four passengers, travel up to 160 kilometers, and reach speeds of 240 km/h while operating with zero direct emissions. The company is also developing a hybrid-electric version of the aircraft, offering greater range and flexibility for longer regional missions, particularly suited to India’s diverse transportation needs.
As part of the collaboration, JetSetGo will lead market research, operational planning, and feasibility studies for metro and short-haul regional routes. The company is currently conducting technical evaluations and demand analysis across selected corridors in India. According to JetSetGo, Valo’s capabilities and future hybrid-electric configuration align well with the growing demand for faster connectivity between dense urban centers and underserved regional destinations where ground transportation remains time-consuming.
Kanika Tekriwal, Founder and CEO of JetSetGo, said aircraft capability and certification progress are key considerations for operators evaluating next-generation aviation solutions. She added that early market studies indicate strong potential demand for electric and hybrid-electric air mobility services across several Indian routes and corridors.
Stuart Simpson, CEO of Vertical Aerospace, stated that India represents a rapidly growing market for Advanced Air Mobility. He noted that partnering with an experienced operator like JetSetGo will help explore how electric and hybrid-electric aircraft can unlock new transportation solutions across the country.
Vertical Aerospace is targeting type certification for Valo by 2028 through UK and European aviation regulators, followed by global validations. Subject to regulatory approvals in India, JetSetGo believes the partnership could support early commercial deployment of Advanced Air Mobility services in the country.
The collaboration also comes at a time when Indian aviation authorities are actively working on certification frameworks and infrastructure planning for the future AAM ecosystem.
