The merger significantly strengthens HOK’s global Sports, Recreation and Entertainment practice, expanding its capabilities across stadiums, arenas, mixed-use entertainment districts, and professional training facilities.
During the integration process, the combined organization will operate under the name HOK + ROSSETTI. ROSSETTI’s leadership team, headed by Matt Rossetti, will continue operating from Detroit, a market where HOK has long aimed to establish a stronger physical presence.
ROSSETTI brings an impressive portfolio of sports and entertainment projects, including the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix, the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, and Ford Field. The firm is also currently leading major redevelopment work on Arthur Ashe Stadium and Cosm Detroit. Its expertise in training facilities, arenas, and sports-driven urban developments complements HOK’s existing global portfolio.
Eli Hoisington, Co-CEO of HOK, stated that the partnership accelerates the company’s long-term growth strategy in the sports and entertainment sector. He noted that ROSSETTI’s culture, client relationships, and design philosophy closely align with HOK’s global vision, while also helping establish a stronger footprint in Detroit.
Matt Rossetti added that the partnership allows ROSSETTI to maintain its client-focused approach while gaining access to HOK’s international resources, multidisciplinary expertise, and global reach. According to him, the merger creates new opportunities for the team to compete on larger and more complex projects worldwide.
The newly combined HOK + ROSSETTI Sports + Recreation + Entertainment division will be led by directors including Nate Appleman, Shannon Bartch, Amy Chase, John Rhodes, Matt Rossetti, and Rashed Singaby. Detroit will serve as a major operational hub for the practice and strengthen HOK’s presence across the Upper Midwest.
HOK has already contributed to several major Detroit projects, including Little Caesars Arena and the future home stadium for Detroit City FC. The acquisition further reinforces the company’s long-term investment in the city and its growing sports infrastructure sector.
Founded as a third-generation family-owned design firm, ROSSETTI has earned global recognition for innovative sports and entertainment destinations. Its recent and ongoing projects include the redevelopment of the USTA complex in New York, the Truist Park reimagination project for the Atlanta Braves, and the Miller Electric Center for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Meanwhile, HOK continues to lead major international sports architecture projects, including stadium developments, training facilities, and entertainment venues across North America and Europe.
